Welcome to the Village of Streamwood! As a convenience to you,
our newest resident, the Village has assembled some information to
help you get acquainted with your new community. We have even
included a list of things for you to remember to do when you first
move into your new home. We encourage you to look through the
information provided below as well as information from other
sections of our website.

(630) 736-3800, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am
to 4:30 pm, and Thursday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Bicycle Registration and Trail Map
Bicycle Registration is recommended, but not mandatory.
Bicycles can be registered at the Police Dept. for no charge. You
can call the Police Dept. at (630) 736-3700 for more information.

Branch Pickup
Branch Pickup service is available on a weekly basis from
March through October. See
Branch Pickup under the Services section or call Public Works at
(630) 736-3850 for more information.
Building Permits
Building Permits are required for most rehabilitation
projects around your house. Applications can be picked up in the
Community Development Department
or are available online. For more on
Building Permits look at the Community Development section.
Business Licenses
Business Licenses are required for the maintenance and
operation of any business or establishment, including home-based
businesses. Applications may be picked up at Village Hall or
are available
online.

Under 18
Sunday through Thursday 11:00 pm
Friday and Saturday midnight
Fire Department
The Fire Department consists of full-time and paid-on-call
firefighters and emergency ambulance service. Learn more about our

Garbage Service
Garbage Service is provided by Onyx. To sign up for service with
Veolia, call 630-587-8282. Find out

Hanover Township Family Services
Hanover Township Family Services provides general emergency
services, mental health information, and senior citizens programs.

Hydrant Flushing
Hydrant Flushing is conducted once a year and is posted as
scheduled in the neighborhoods.
Library
The Village is served by three different library districts,
Poplar Creek Library, Gail Borden Library, or Schaumburg Township
Library, depending on where you live. Look
under the Community section to learn more about our Libraries and
see which one serves you!
Newspapers
The area has three local newspapers. The Daily Herald, (847)
427-4300, and the Elgin Courier News, (847) 888-7777, are
distributed daily. The Streamwood Examiner, (630) 830-4145, is
a weekly publication.
Park District
Streamwood residents are served either by the Streamwood Park
District or the Schaumburg Park District.

Parking
Parking is prohibited on Village streets between 1:00 am and
5:00 am Parking is also prohibited after a 2" or greater snowfall
until streets are fully plowed.

Pet Licenses
Pet Licenses are recommended, but not mandatory.
Licenses can be obtained at the Police Department. with proof of
Rabies vaccination. There is no charge for the license. Pet owners
are responsible for "picking up" after their pets. Leash law is
enforced!

Police Department is at 401 East Irving Park Road. Service is
provided 24 hours a day. EMERGENCY at any time- DIAL 911.

Public Works Department
Public Works Department is at 565 South Bartlett Road.
Village water, sewer, and streets are maintained through this
department.

Recycling
Recycling is provided by Onyx. Recycling guides are available
at Village Hall or from Onyx. Recycling bins are requested
directly from Onyx.

Schools
Streamwood enjoys a wide range of quality educational
opportunities for its residents. There are many options, starting
from the elementary level up through collegiate programs.

Storm Sirens
Storm Sirens are tested on the first Tuesday of every month
at 10:00 am. Find out more about our storm sirens under the

Streamwood Chamber of Commerce
Streamwood Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit business
association. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do business
in Streamwood, including businesses outside the Village.

Streamwood Newsletter
Streamwood Newsletter is distributed bi-monthly to the
residents. To see a
free copy of the Newsletter look under the Reference Desk.
Street Numbers
The Police Department asks that residents post their home
street number either near the entranceway to the home, or by the
entrance to the property. This assists police officers in responding
more quickly to requests for service from residents.
Utilities
Streamwood has access to abundant, cost efficient, and
competitive utility services. You can contact the provider directly
for more information on programs and services. You can find a list
of Utilities
and contact information under the Services section.
Water Bills are
issued monthly by mail. Look under the Finance section of
Frequently Asked Questions to find out about water signup and
billing.
Cable providers can
be contacted directly. The two providers in Streamwood are Comcast
and Wide Open West. If you have any complaints about
your cable service you can contact the Village Manager’s office at
(630) 736-3800.
Village Board of Trustees
Village Board of Trustees meets twice each month on the first
and third Thursdays at 7:00 pm at Village Hall. Any change in the
meeting schedule is published in the Daily Herald.

Village Hall
Village Hall is located at 301 East Irving Park Road,
Streamwood. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 am to 7:00
pm.
Village Maps
Village Maps can be picked up at Village Hall for $1.00.
Other maps, including a site map of the Village,
are located in the Community section.
Voter Registration
Voter Registration is available at Village Hall during
business hours. Two forms of ID are needed, with one showing your
current address. For more information,
