Location
Location. The key word in choosing the best
development site for your business. Where you are
located directly impacts how your business will grow.
Easy accessibility, whether to bring in a quality staff or
ship out premier finished goods is critical. Location is
the backbone of your industry.
Framed by four regionally significant expressways and
arterial highways, no other community offers as strategic a
location as Streamwood. Interstate 90, a major east-west
highway, is accessed at either Barrington Road or Route 59,
connecting you to the "Golden Corridor" with
convenient passage to Chicago and beyond. I-90 is less
than two miles away from the region's prime development area
in the north-south commercial corridor. The newly opened
Elgin-O'Hare Expressway facilitates travel, with swift access
to I-290, I-355, I-294 and Route 53.
For travel or shipping by air, O'Hare International Airport
is 15 miles due east of Streamwood. Midway, another of
Chicago's airports, is approximately 30 miles to the
southeast.
For travel by rail, The Milwaukee Road Metra commuter
station, which connects directly into Chicago's historic Union
Station, is an easy five minute drive south.
In addition to these direct routes of transportation,
Streamwood is adjacent to a number of major state and county
highways. These roads provide access to the entire
northwest suburban region. Illinois Route 59, designated
an Illinois State Strategic Regional Arterial (SRA), is on the
western edge of the Village. It is a major thoroughfare
for the northern and western suburbs. Recently widened
to four lanes, Route 59 provides quick access to Interstate
90. Since most land to the east of Route 59 is
allocated, this corridor is ripe and ready for development.
Lake Street (Route 20), another SRA, is located on the
southern edge of the Village. Lake Street connects the
eastern edge of Cook County, along the Elgin-O'Hare
Expressway, to the Fox River Valley and beyond. Route 20
is the anticipated western leg of the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway.
The intersection of Routes 59 and 20 is targeted to be a prime
growth area.
Irving Park Road (Route 19) is the main east-west divider
in the Village and a major thoroughfare for the region.
Barrington Road is the main north-south thoroughfare,
providing convenient access form the north or south.
