Police Department Overview
The Streamwood Police Department serves and protects the
eight square miles of the Village. Officers patrol 75
miles of streets, maintaining the offensive in the prevention
of crime. An enhanced 911 emergency telephone system
with computer-aided dispatch enables the Police Department to
maintain a quick response time throughout the Village.
The department has the authorized strength of 59 sworn
officers and a 20-member civilian support staff.
Streamwood's Police Department is a full service law
enforcement agency, consisting of uniformed patrol personnel,
traffic and tactical units, criminal investigators and crime
prevention specialists. Training is integral to the police force.
Officers continually participate in extensive training
programs through national, regional, state, and local law
enforcement academic and training facilities. The Police
Department is also committed to developing and nourishing
positive relationships with business by promoting crime
prevention.
The
Department is divided into two divisions: Field Services and
Support Services. The Department provides full service
law enforcement and community programming. To learn more
