The Village of Streamwood elects its officials in independent, at-large elections. Therefore, no primaries are held for Village offices. The Village holds consolidated elections in April of odd numbered years. Primaries and general elections, for national or state offices, are held separately.
Elections
2024 Presidential Election
The next scheduled election will be the 2024 Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polls open at 6:00 am and close at 7:00 pm. On Election Day, you MUST vote at your home precinct location. Watch your mail for a new Voter Registration Card from Cook County.
2025 Consolidated Election (Village Board)
Nominating Petitions for the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election may be circulated starting August 20, 2024. Positions on the ballot will be Village President (x1) 4-year term; Village Clerk (x1) 4-year term; and Village Trustee (x3) 4-year term. Petitions must be filed with the Village Clerk between November 12-18, 2024. For more information contact the Village Clerk at clerk@streamwood.org or 630-736-3806.
Polling Places

Voter Registration
Village residents can register to vote online at the Cook County Clerk's website. To register, residents must be 18 years or older, a United States citizen, and have lived in their precinct for at least 30 days.
Remember if you have moved or changed your name, you must re-register to be eligible to vote.
You can check online to verify that you are registered to vote, get information about grace-period registration and voting, and early voting dates and locations with a couple of mouse clicks.
Early Voting
The Streamwood Community Development Garage (351 E Irving Park Road, behind Village Hall) is an early voting site. The hours and dates are stipulated by the Cook County Clerk.
Voter registration will be available during early voting. If you wish to register, or change your information, you must bring two pieces of identification - one with your current Cook County address.
A designated drop box will be located with the early voting judges (in the garage) for those voters who have a mail-in ballot and do not wish to use the USPS mail during early voting only.
Vote By Mail
Apply for a mail-in ballot at the Cook County Clerk website: cookcountyclerk.com. Complete the online application; you will need your driver’s license or state ID number OR the last four digits of your Social Security number, the address where you wish your ballot to be mailed, and an email address. You will be notified via email when your ballot is sent, and when it has been received by Cook County.
Election Day
Election Day voting is from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. If you choose to vote on Election Day, you must visit your local polling place to cast your vote. Please visit the Cook County Clerk website to verify your registration, and to check for your local polling place.
