The Village of Streamwood is dedicated to ensuring and protecting the rights of all persons in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Village does not discriminate in the provision of its services, programs, and activities, and makes reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities such as the removal of architectural, transportation and communication barriers. All contracts, which result in the delivery of services, programs and activities include a requirements that such services, programs and/or activities are delivered without discrimination on the basis of disability, consistent with the ADA and with local ordinances.
To ensure compliance, the Village Board appointed the Community Development Director to serve as the Village of Streamwood's ADA Compliance Coordinator. The Community Development Director is responsible for the coordination of the Village's efforts to ensure compliance with the Act, and to investigate any complaint against the Village alleging noncompliance with the Act.
The Village Board adopted rules, procedures and forms in order to ensure prompt resolution of any complaint against the Village for any alleged noncompliance.
