Home MenuFood and Beverage Tax
The Village of Streamwood imposes a two percent (2%) tax on the sale of alcoholic beverages and prepared foods. This is in addition to existing county and state taxes.
Food and Beverage Taxes are due monthly from the retailer. Payments must be made to the Village by the 20th of each month, for the preceding month. Payments, received after the due date, are subject to a late penalty of 5%, which will be added to the remaining balance.
When making your payment, please attach a copy of your Food and Beverage Monthly Sales Tax Form (see below), along with a copy of your Illinois Department of Revenue Form ST-1, and a check made payable to the Village of Streamwood, to: Finance Department, 301 E. Irving Park Rd., Streamwood, IL 60107.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the retailer to collect and remit the tax. Failure to comply can result in fines, up to $1,000, as well as suspension or revocation of your Village licenses. For further information, on the Food and Beverage Tax, please see Sec. 3-3-7 of the Village Code. Some establishments are exempt from collecting this tax (i.e. churches, schools, day care facilities, nursing homes, as well as certain not-for-profit organizations).
