Permit applications are available in the Community Development Department office or you can download and print the
Building Permit Application from our website. The Village also offers convenient online submittals through our
Citizen Self Service portal.
Most applications must be accompanied by a plat of survey indicating the improvement on the lot. The proposed improvement should show distances from side, rear or front lot lines and overall dimensions of the improvement. Plans and detailed drawings of improvements may be required for certain projects.
To submit permits digitally, email us at
communitydevelopment@streamwood.org. The submittal must include the permit application and any supplemental plans and documents. Submitting all required documents at once will facilitate faster approval. For permits requiring building plan reviews, please allow up to 7 business days for an initial review. Larger, more complex permits require more time. If you have any questions or require assistance, please call (630) 736-3843.
Contractors may obtain the required permits. However, contractors must be fully licensed with the Village. They must also have a completed Illinois Attorney
General Consumer Rights Acknowledgement Form, signed by the homeowner, to obtain a permit. These forms are also available at the
Illinois Attorney General website.
